Getting Started with Campaigns
Last updated: February 3, 2026
Campaigns are the core of how you communicate with customers in Onyx. Whether you're following up with new policyholders, purchasing inbound calls, or re-engaging aged leads, campaigns help you manage outreach at scale.
This guide walks you through what you need before creating your first campaign and how to use the Campaign Wizard.
What is a Campaign?
A campaign is a configured communication workflow that connects your contacts or calls with your agents. Campaigns can be:
Inbound — receiving calls from customers or purchased call sources
Campaign Sources: Call Buying & General Inbound
Outbound — dialing or messaging contacts from your lists or lead sources
Campaign Sources: Lead Buying & Contact Lists
Each campaign defines who you're contacting, how you're reaching them, and which agents handle the conversations.
Campaign Examples
Here are common campaign types you might create:
Campaign | Type | Description |
Policy Follow Up | Outbound | Follow up with new policyholders on their first day to ensure satisfaction and answer questions |
Call Buying | Inbound | Purchase inbound calls from verified sources to connect with qualified leads |
Aged Leads Outreach | Outbound | Re-engage older leads that haven't been contacted recently to revive opportunities |
