How to Set Up a Lead Buying Source

Lead Buying sources receive leads via API from external vendors and queue them for outbound campaigns. This guide walks you through configuring a Lead Buying source to receive vendor leads.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • Vendor documentation — API specs or posting instructions from your lead vendor

  • Outbound campaign (optional) — You can create the source first, then attach it to a campaign

Step 1: Create a new API Key

  1. Go to Admin → API Keys

  2. Click Create API Key

  3. You will use this API Key to set up the Lead Buying Source

Step 2: Navigate to Campaign Sources

  1. Go to Communication → Campaign Sources

  2. Click the Lead Buying tab

  3. Click Create New Source

Step 3: Configure Source Settings

  • API Key: The API Key you created in Step 1

Step 4: Share API Integration Guide

Onyx generates a unique endpoint and credentials for each Lead Buying source:

  1. Click on the icon beside API Endpoint

  2. Download the API Integration Guide and share with your lead vendor
