Campaign Sources Overview

Campaign Sources define where your contacts and calls originate. Before creating a campaign, you'll need to set up at least one source that matches your campaign type.

Source Types

Onyx supports four types of Campaign Sources, each designed for different use cases:

Call Buying

Best for: Purchasing live inbound calls from vendors

Call Buying sources enable you to purchase live calls to route directly to your agents. You can configure the billing type, call caps, and how to handle calls based on agent utilization.

Requirements:

Lead Buying

Best for: Receiving leads via API from external vendors for outbound contact

Lead Buying sources allow vendors to send lead data directly into Onyx through an API connection. Leads can then be queued for outbound campaigns based on your contact strategy.

Contact Lists

Best for: Uploading new contacts or scheduling existing contacts for outbound campaigns

Contact Lists let you create one-time or recurring uploads of contacts you already own—such as aged leads, policy renewal lists, or re-engagement audiences. You can upload manually or schedule recurring imports.

Requirements:

• Contact data CSV if uploading new contacts

• Outbound campaign to contact leads

General Inbound

Best for: Receiving non-purchased inbound calls from customers

General Inbound sources handle calls that aren't purchased from vendors—such as customer service lines, policy support numbers, or marketing response lines.

Requirements:

• Inbound campaign to route calls
